excessive sweating

Despite the hot and humid temperature this morning,
I had one of my best [albeit sweaty] runs in awhile.
My training schedule called for a 2.5 miles, and it felt like a breeze
{even though there wasn't one...}

{I know these someecards are everywhere.. but they are so funny!}

Yesterday the nugget and I made a mess at field trip to Barnes and Noble.

After we cleaned up were done,
we had a picnic in the cool shade.

Nugget had so much fun playing on her chair with the tupperware.
I had so much fun eating Yogurt-land.

dulce delicious + chocolate= mmmmm

What's your favorite fro-yo flavor?

Can't put it down

I started eating up reading Hunger Games about 2 weeks ago and have almost completed the second book!

It's been awhile since I've really gotten into a book, and I Iove it!

In other news,
I started my half marathon training yesterday!
On schedule was a 2 mile run.
And even though I ran at 6 AM,
It's was very hot and humid.
I'm also a little sad because my new running shoes gave me a blister.
I really don't want to have to return them,
but if I mustard must I must.

The nugget has been practicing standing for the past couple week,
And today she stood for almost 30 seconds!!
I have a feeling walking may be right around the corner!

She has also been loving her new sand and water table!
Perfect for the heat!!
Best Craigslist purchase yet!!

not sure why this pic is like this...?

Also in this heat,
Don't forget to hydrate...

and eat plenty of cheese!

and we played some more

Phew!
Our busy couple weeks has come to an end.
It seemed so q u i e t around here yesterday.

We had my mother and sister in law here for the week.

It started out slow because the nugget came down with some sort of bug.

We laid low and hung out around the house
while enjoying carrot soup

and some beer.

note: this beer was EMPTY

The bug seemed to pass by late Monday night.
Hooray!

So we went to one of our favorite "locals" beach on Tuesday.
This beach was lacking something though... tourists!

The waves were too wicked for boogie boarding, but were fun to swim in.

The nugget enjoyed digging in the sand.

Wednesday,
the hubs and I ventured out {with a friend} to a few breweries,
since we had trustworthy baby sitters for the nugget.

Thursday we soaked up more sun in Ocean Beach,
while catching some waves on the boogie boards.

Perfect beach day!

Friday
after the nugget's firstt visit to the dentist

hooray for play areas..

"no way am I staying in this chair!!..."

{chipped tooth from bathtime the night before}

we swam at the hotel pool my where my in-laws stayed.

Saturday morning our visitors left.

We had a great week, and as always time flies{when you're having fun}

Happy Monday!

girls will be girls

The nugget and I had a great week with our besties Holly and Olivia!

They flew in Sunday and stayed until Friday.
Olivia is quite silly and loves to throw toys loudly on the floor play!
She is almost a year old and walking all about.

We were also thankful that she was flexible with naps and bedtime, as the nugget is very routine, and any change in that would've been tough.

The first day (Sunday) we mainly hung out around home, the girls played and got to know one another.

Monday, we filled the pool before nap-time, splash city!

I promise you they had fun, despite the faces in this picture!

{aren't they so girly in their pink rash-guards and pink pool?!?!}

We had plans to hit up the zoo post nap, but by the time we got going, it was late in the day, so we post-poned for another day...

instead...
we played at the park!

A lady at the park suggested we put them back-to-back in the swing...
The girls LOVED it!!!
I think the mommies got tired [of swinging] before the babies!!

We gobbled up more fresh air with a walk afterward.

Tuesday,
the girls played doctor
{aka chewed on medicine bottles...}

Then plans for the zoo were delayed one more day
since nugget napped for nearly 3 hours!!

{can we say worn out!}

So we improvised and headed downtown.
Holly really wanted to check out the elusive Heavenly Cupcake.

Their July flavor is watermelon, and holy moly was it good!!
Of course I couldn't pass up the chance to indulge in my favorite,
As we walked around downtown,
Holly discovered the joys of Bettie Page

After 2 failed attempts at the zoo,
Holly was like
HELLO!!
Let's go in the morning...
leave Olivia and I there {since O can easily nap in her stroller}
then pick us up AFTER nugget's nap!
{ME = DUH!}

Thank goodness someone (not me) has brains...

So the plan was executed wonderfully on Wednesday!

No joke, this monkey came right up to the window to, well, monkey around.
The girls loved it until a second monkey came running right up to the window and THUMP, scared the nugget.

I'm really happy our "zooplan" worked out well.
I think Holly and Olivia had a wonderful time,
and were able to take full advantage of their time at the zoo.

Thursday was our busiest day yet!

We went to Mission Bay Park to play and walk in the morning,

then visited Mission Beach in the afternoon!!

Friday,
after a BIG breakfeast

we played at home in the morning

then feasted on Mexican at Coyote's in the afternoon.

Then we had to say goodbye to our besties.

Always sad to say goodbye.
Until next time...

1440 minutes

OOfda!
We have been busy around here.
Last week we had the lovely Holly and her hilarious daughter Olivia here for a visit.

@ Heavenly Cupcake

{Our week in a recap is to come soon...}

This week my mother-in-law and sis-in-law are here!

So, blogging has taken a backseat for awhile
{whilst I try and play ketchup catch-up on sleep...},
but I'll try and keep you updated.

My half marathon training WILL start next week.
Need to get my lazy booty moving!

I love this motivator, it sure puts the little bit of time in perspective.
A 30 minute tv show, or a 30 minute workout...?
