The Christmas (that wasn't)

Come join me for a pint at my pity party...

The nugget woke from a terrible nights sleep the 22nd with "the cold". She spent a miserable Christmas Eve coughing and crying until 2am when he finally fell asleep, and slept most of Christmas Day. We were unable to join in the fabulous fun OC Christmas we had intended, and only saw my mom and stepdad (in town from MN) for 5 hours.

We put together the kitchen from Nana while she was here

I give the hubs credit for trying to make the best of it with a beer cheese fondue, 

Vast amounts of sugar (and beer)

And slowly unwrapping Christmas gifts.

Now as the nugget is almost back to health and the hubs and I battle this unforgiving cold...

I have but one question,

Dear favorite holiday of mine,

Can you please take it easy on is in 2013?

Bestest, most fabulous

I had one of the bestest, most fabulous days with the little nugget!

We ventured to the zoo bright and early to meet with our mommy group for a bear tour.

Nugget did really good walking along with the group and was having a blast!

After the tour we played around at the lagoon;

 watching ducks, turtles and koi fish before leaving the zoo.

Nugget had a hoot running back and forth across the bridge!

After nugget's nap we met up with our friends at Balboa Park for residents free Tuesday.

We decided to check out the Natural History Museum.

The chocolate exhibit was delicious fascinating!

We also explored the horse exhibit and some of the dinosaur bones.

Once again, nugget did a great job walking around... I only needed to chase after her a few times ;)

I love the days when we can explore our world together.

End of October

Since life has been busy, and blogging has found it's way on the back burner... I thought I should do an end of October update {mainly to share pictures of nugget}!


I've been trying to think outside the box playground for activities that provides nugget a chance to be around other kids.

She's very sociable, and loves being around other tots.

I found the San Diego Running Mamas group and was thrilled!

Nugget enjoyed playing with the other kids, did great in her stroller for a 3.5 mile run, and I enjoyed a great workout.

Talk about killing two seagulls with one shell! (err... bird, stone?)

We took a trip out to Oma's Pumpkin patch, which is about 30 minutes inland from where we live.
It just so happened to be 90 degrees, but it was the only day the hubs was able to join us.

It was hot, with plenty of bee's, screaming kids, and funky farm smells.
Needless to say, we skipped the hay ride, grabbed our free pumpkin, and vowed to never come back
{at least until nugget is older? or on a cooler day?}


We did however have a hoot at the annual BOO parade! Nugget enjoyed collecting candy, running out in the street {between floats}, and bouncing on daddy.

It was another HOT day, but a shady spot made for a perfect parade morning!

And the build up to...
Halloween!

Despite nugget's fall the day before,

she was excited and ready to go trick or treating!
She ran to our neighbors...

 and sorted her first handful of candy. She held on to a Snickers bar the rest of the night!

Trick or treating with my beautiful family was the icing on this month's cake.
